Who it's for

General site workers, equipment operators, and supervisors on RCRA/CERCLA (Superfund) cleanup sites, TSD facilities, and uncontrolled hazardous-waste operations.

Why it matters

Federal law requires this training before an employee may work in an area where hazardous substances could cause exposure. Without it, both the worker and employer are out of compliance and uninsurable for the work.

FAQ

Do I need the 40-hour or the 24-hour course?
Workers with regular site exposure (and anyone who may need a respirator) take the 40-hour. The 24-hour version is for occasional site visitors with minimal exposure. When unsure, employers default to the 40-hour.
How long is it valid?
HAZWOPER certification is maintained with an 8-hour refresher every 12 months. We offer the HAZWOPER 8-Hour Annual Refresher for that.
Is the hands-on field experience included?
The classroom 40 hours are delivered here. OSHA also requires 3 days of supervised on-the-job field experience, which is completed and documented with your employer.
