Who it's for

Workers who enter or support entry into tanks, vaults, silos, sewers, and other permit-required confined spaces — plus their attendants and entry supervisors.

Why it matters

Confined spaces cause a disproportionate share of multiple-fatality incidents (often would-be rescuers). OSHA requires training on the permit program before assigned duties.

FAQ

What makes a space "permit-required"?
A confined space with a hazardous atmosphere, engulfment risk, internal configuration that could trap, or any other serious hazard. The course covers how to recognize one.
Does this certify me as a rescuer?
No. It teaches awareness of the roles and why untrained self-rescue attempts are deadly. Designated rescue teams require additional, hands-on training.
